Our Artificial Intelligence in Quality Measures Initiative develops guidance for the development, selection, and implementation of quality measures incorporating AI methods for use in accreditation, pay-for-performance, public reporting, value-based payment, and other accountability purposes. In an effort to find out how much patients benefit from programs incentivizing healthcare providers and health plans to improve the quality of care, an NQF research team used national data to estimate the impact of improved performance on two specific quality measures widely used in public- and private-sector accountability programs.
